Spring Storytelling in D HOME …

A gilt rococo mirror, c. 1880s, creates a sense of grandness in the living room where furnishings include ’20s gilt tub chairs in silk mohair, a custom salon sofa in a modern-day jacquard from Jim Thompson Fabrics, an 18th century Oushak Turkish rug, and a ’70s starburst chandelier.

For a D HOME profile in the March/April 2016 issue, Elaine had the pleasure of visiting with Dallas interior designer Mike Mousel and his happy client, Pratiksha Rigley, who called him for help when she couldn’t make her lovely 6,000-square-foot Plano manse feel like home. “I really liked the house,” Pratiksha says, “but in every room, I’d say, ‘Oh, that has to change’ or ‘I’ve got to do something about that.’”

The framework was there —  pristine hardwoods, soaring ceilings and striking black-and-white marble floors — but Pratriksha went from one project to the next, trying to put her own signature on the scene. 

Fortunately, Mousel knew what to do.
